Children Under 13 — Verified Parental Consent Required
Survey Cash Club operates a Junior Portal for children aged 13–17, and a parent-supervised program for users under 13. All participation by children under 13 requires express verifiable parental consent. No personal data from children under 13 is collected without this consent.
1. What Is COPPA?
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) is a United States federal law that protects the privacy of children under 13 online. COPPA requires operators of websites and online services to obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from children under 13, and to maintain the privacy and safety of that information.
2. Who This Policy Applies To
- Children under 13 who use the Survey Cash Club Junior Portal with parent/guardian supervision
- Parents or legal guardians who create or manage accounts on behalf of children under 13
- Any user who is under 13 years of age

3. Information We Collect From Children
When a parent or guardian provides consent for a child under 13, we collect the following limited information:
- Child's first name and last initial (display name for the Junior Portal)
- Child's date of birth (to verify age and eligibility)
- Parent or guardian's email address and contact information
- Account credentials (username and password, encrypted)
- Activity data: quests completed, badges earned, coins/XP accumulated
- Study participation records (study names only, not study content)
We do NOT collect: full name displayed publicly, home address, phone number, school name, or any sensitive personal information from children without explicit additional consent.
4. How We Use Children's Information
We use the limited information collected from children solely to:
- Operate and provide the Junior Portal experience
- Track educational quests and badge progress
- Allow parents to monitor and manage their child's account
- Send account-related communications to the parent (not the child)
- Comply with applicable laws and regulations
- Detect and prevent fraud or unauthorized activity
We do NOT use children's data for advertising, marketing, or sale to third parties.
5. Verifiable Parental Consent
Before any child under 13 may use Survey Cash Club, we require verifiable parental consent through:
- Parent or guardian creates an account and links the child's account
- Email verification sent to the parent's registered email address
- Parent reviews and accepts the COPPA-compliant consent form
- Parent may revoke consent at any time through their Parent Portal
6. Parental Rights Under COPPA
As a parent or legal guardian, you have the right to:
- Review any personal information we have collected from your child
- Request deletion of your child's personal information
- Refuse to permit further collection or use of your child's information
- Revoke consent and close the child's account at any time
- Request a copy of your child's data in a portable format

7. Sharing Children's Data
We do NOT sell or share children's personal information with third parties for commercial purposes. Limited sharing occurs only:
- With service providers who help us operate the platform (under strict confidentiality agreements)
- When required by law, court order, or government authority
- To protect the safety of the child or other users
8. Data Security for Children's Information
We implement enhanced security measures for children's data:
- Encryption of all personal information in transit and at rest
- Access controls limiting employee access to children's data
- Regular security audits specifically covering children's data
- Immediate incident response procedures for any breach involving children's data
- Data minimization — we only collect what is strictly necessary
9. Data Retention for Children
- Active account: Data retained while the account remains active
- Account deletion: All child data deleted within 30 days
- Child turns 13: Parents are notified; account transitions to standard Junior tier (with updated consent)
- Child turns 18: Account transitions to adult Platinum/Elite tier options
- Inactive accounts: Data deleted after 12 months of inactivity
10. No Behavioral Advertising to Children
Survey Cash Club does not engage in behavioral advertising or targeted marketing to children under 13. We do not use cookies for advertising purposes on accounts associated with children under 13. Any analytics we collect on children's usage is used solely to improve the platform's educational features.
